Ghost Hunt by Stephen James O'Meara - Published by Astronomy Magazine, Oct 2009.
O'Meara created this list of 109 Deep Sky Objects to enable folks to do a marathon one night observing event in the autumn to mirror the Messier Marathon of the spring. Like the Marathon, the Ghost Hunt is meant to last from dusk to dawn and contains 109 objects. The difference is that those objects are drawn from several catalogs (M, NGC, IC, Melotte, Common DSO).
Sequence numbers that correspond to the Ghost List are included.
There are more than 109 objects because some objects include 2 or 3 catalog entries (e.g., Eastern Veil Nebula).

Bill Tschumy's "Nutty Buddy" list for the AAS Central Texas Star Party, at Eagle Eye Observatory, Burnet, TX, May 22-23 2009
List available here: http://www.thinkastronomy.com/downloads/CTSP_2009_Observing_List.pdf
Bill's description:
"This year’s CTSP list is a bit different from those in the past. While you still need to observe 14 of the 15 objects on the list, the twist is
that you need to observe them in two or more scopes at approximately the same time. This allows you to compare and contrast the
views in the two scopes. To get the most out of the list, your "buddy's" scope should be different from yours, either in size or in
configuration (e.g. reflector vs refractor).
Completing the list will get your name mentioned in next month's Sidereal Times plus getting a cool metal Space Station pin (although
I only have 28 so don't dawdle). The observations must be completed during the 2009 CTSP.
When done, show your completed observing sheet to Bill Tschumy on the observing field to claim your prize."

Spectral classes of all the stars and DSO's referenced in James B Kaler's book " Stars and their spectra"; 1997 paperback edition.
I've also added some comments where appropriate. Some faint white dwarf info has been omitted, as have some stars which could not be located in SIMBAD (http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad)
An illustration of a star's spectrum in the book is shown by a * and page number. i.e.*p168.
In addition to Kaler's stars I've also added data on 20 stars brighter than 10 mag, used by the ESO for spectral reference.(www.eso.org/observing/standards/spectra/stanlis.html)
Additional G2 type reference stars have also been listed from Barry Malpas' list and others.
Corrections and amendments, contact me.

Includes section titles w/book page numbers as headers. Also adds sequence numbers to all entries to allow you to sort objects by the order they appear in the book to make cross referencing easier. RA/Dec values with section titles are just to ensure if you accidently slew to a title your scope will stay in same general area of the sky.

126
Stetson Photometric Standard Fields as published on http://www1.cadc-ccda.hia-iha.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/community/STETSON/standards/
can be used for photometric calibration purposes.
For most fields an object of interest was centred in the fields. In those cases an object type was assigned to the field and supplematary info was taken from an appropriat catalogue: AP DSO, GCVS, Herschel1, MilkyWay Glob Cluster Catalogue, NGC Acc, O.VisOC or
PGC.
The size refers to the size of the field, not the object mentionend in the type-field
n BVRI - (user 2-field) refers to the number of stars observed in the filters BVRI (Johnson-Cousin)
Other Phot. Stand.-field (user 1-field) refers to the presence of LONEOS (LON) and/or Landolt (Lan) stars in or near the field (usually within 30' or 60' in some cases)

This is a list of objects compiled by Thom Bemus that can be seen in a 4" refractor, Astroscan or 10x50 binoculars. Those objects listed together under the Group heading are either in the same low power field of view or are very close, and viewable with telescopes or binos with fields of view of 4 degress or more. While most of the groups reveal far less detail in the indivdual objects, it is the beauty of the group that is most impressive. Many of the nebulae in this list are greatly enhanced by an O-III filter.

75
This is a list of 75 sourthern astronomical objects. It accompanies the Deep Sky observing guide written for the Astronomical Group of Western Australia (AGWA: http://btow.com.au/agwa.shtml).
The 75 objects are divided into three groups of 25, each of increasing difficulty, spread across the entire southern sky. The first (the AGWA 25) contains objects that can be seen with the eye or binoculars. The second group (the AGWA 50) has 25 objects that require a small telescope, a 60mm refractor or a small reflector??the traditional entry level size telescope. The third group (the AGWA 75) requires a medium sized telescope, in the 15cm range. However, if you are fortunate enough to have a larger telescope these objects are still worth examining.

Texas Star Party 2005 Bright Sky Observing Program by Clayton L Jeter. A challenge list of 25 stars and planets that are observable at TSP2005 during the daylight hours. The faintest object (Merak) is Magnitude +2.31, which is not that difficult in an 8?? telescope. You??ll notice that it is much easier to observe away from the sun. If the sun is in the western quadrant, then observe to the east for a needed object. When the telescope is correctly pointed to the desired object, let your eyes move around the field of view in the eyepiece for several seconds and soon the object will pop into view. An observer can usually see star color to some degree. The light blue color of the daylight background sky helps add contrast for viewing these objects.
>>> CAUTION <<< When the telescope slews (or you manually move it), cap the tube assembly and finder scope to prevent eye and telescope damage from the bright and dangerous sun.
