If you didn't download the original software and install it, this is what you should have on your disk at an absolute minimum (comments in (italics), names in bold must be exactly as shown):
AstroPlanner (folder/directory)
AstroPlanner (application)
AstroPlanner Data (file)Catalogues (folder/directory)
BrightStar.apcat (file)
Messier.apcat (file)
(any other catalogues you might want to use)
Note: The above is only applicable to versions of AstroPlanner prior to V1.4.6. The version 1.4.6 application and after contains all necessary files and will install/update them when you first run the application.
Updating your software
Mac OS X
- Download the application by clicking here. It is in the form of a disk image file. If it doesn't mount after download, double-click it, or use Disk Utility to mount it.
- Replace the AstroPlanner application in your AstroPlanner folder with the downloaded version on the mounted disk image.
- Run the application on your hard disk. It will update or create any necessary secondary files.
Mac OS 9 (Classic)
- Download the application by clicking here.
- Use Stuffit Expander to extract the AstroPlanner Classic application file.
- Replace the AstroPlanner Classic application in your AstroPlanner folder with the downloaded version.
- Run the application on your hard disk. It will update or create any necessary secondary files.
Windows
- Download the application by clicking here.
- Extract the AstroPlanner.exe application file from the downloaded Zip archive.
- Replace the AstroPlanner.exe application in your AstroPlanner folder with the downloaded version.
- Run the application on your hard disk. It will update or create any necessary secondary files.
