Release Notes
[Fix] = Bug fix, [Chg] = Feature change or interface revision,
[New] = New feature
[Fix] Object->New Object now actually does something.
Version 1.0.1 (1 July 2002)
- [Fix] Full RA/Dec precision (ddmmss) in Autostar tours
- [Fix] Space-separated rather than comma-separated fields
in Autostar tours
- [Fix] Search results are restricted to a maximum of 500,
even though it's a preference item.
- [Fix] Changed Preferences... menu shortcut to cmd-Y so that
cmd-H is assigned to Hide on Mac OS X
- [Fix] Some changes to serial port code to try and eradicate
problems.
- [Fix] If you are connected to a telescope and select Preferences,
you are warned that the connection must be closed down, with
the option to cancel.
- [Fix] Stop crashing when two documents are connected to the
telescope and one is disconnected.
- [Fix] Problem with USB-to-Serial adapters on Windows - ports
do not show up in telescope preferences. I have figured out how
to work around this one (an apparent bug in the development system
I use).
- [Fix] Turns out that Cmd/Ctrl-Y for Preferences... was already
in use (Sync). Changed Sync shortcut to Cmd/Ctrl-Shift-Y.
- [Fix] Allow "am" and "pm" on time input
for those who don't use 24-hour (military) on a regular basis.
- [Fix] (Windows) Added missing menu shortcuts and reassigned
duplicates.
- [New] Ability to add/substitute other fields (e.g. Magnitude,
separation, etc.) in Autostar tour descriptions
- [New] Ability to transform coordinates from another epoch
(e.g. 1950) to the epoch used by AstroPlanner (i.e. 2000.0)
- [New] Window menu keeps track of document windows
(particularly useful in Windows when doc windows are maximised)
- [New] Option in Preferences->Telescope will convert epoch
2000.0 coordinates to current epoch coordinates before slewing
(for the anal-retentive folk out there)
- [New/Fix] Test at startup (Windows only) tests video card
for Night Vision compatibility and allows disabling of this test
if crashing or other nasty behaviour occurs.
- [New] Hovering the cursor over the field-of-view chart reveals
information about the object you are pointing at.
- [New] Add Finder FOV parameter to telescope resources.
- [New] Finder FOV button sets Field-of-View to that of currently
selected telescope's finder scope.
- [New] (Windows) Item in Preferences to reset the Night Vision
startup test where necessary (obviates having to trash preferences).
- [New] Lookup ID/Name now offers a list of catalogues that
can be selected for searches.
- [New] Manual now has Quick Start Tutorial chapter
